Stories can conquer fear, you know.
They make the heart bigger.

You rouse to a splash of sea salt drying on your skin. A haze of glass-white sand glitters in your vision, dappled by lush palms and thick, curling foliage that disappears into a jungle of deep jade. From behind, crackling wood and sawing rope groan from a mangled life raft ran ashore. A petering wash of tide over pebbled sand fills your ears as you struggle to gain your bearings in a vast portrait of tropical color.

Perhaps you have arrived here without warning, plucked from a world you hadn’t expected to so suddenly depart. Perhaps you had met your final destination long before you stirred upon these crystal shores. Your guide, the Storyteller, does not discriminate. You’re here now, and the taste of the ocean is thick on your tongue, the faint stirring of warm wind soft against your back as it almost seems to encourage you forth into the island’s vibrant understory.

Welcome to the archipelago of LifeAftr. Your story is about to begin anew.

Yet you are not without guidance. The avatars of this land are a mostly amiable band, willing to offer their counsel to those who earn their favor. Besides that, you are hardly the first sign of life on these islands -- though some of your neighbors are certainly more civilized than others, of course. It may be best if you were to stick with your kind; that is, other souls drawn into the same strange shores as you.

Ah, but these are dangerous wilds, and you are, presumably, only mortal. Food. Shelter. Protection. Your destiny is your own; your guides don't often see fit to interfere directly. Will you be satisfied with carving out a simple life of survival? Will your wanderlust take you from shore to shore, in search of island relics that hint to an ancient history entagled with an unfixed prophecy? Or perhaps you’re happiest donning sword and shield, driving back the beasts that lurk deep within the archipelago’s belly.

The Storyteller asks only one thing of you: share generously your tales of bravery and survival, of valor and passion. For you know not when this chapter, too, will come to a close.
