Due to LifeAftr approaching endgame, Applications are currently CLOSED, with the exception of returning players and/or characters.

Additionally, please note that applications received on Saturdays may take up to 24 hours to receive a response, particularly if an app is received last minute. Applications received after 12pm est on Saturdays will not be processed until the following weekend.

Prior to starting your application, please check the Taken Page to ensure they are not already in play. Please ensure that you have Reserved the character you wish to apply for; keep in mind that we do not accept application challenges!

There are a total of four application templates which can be used to apply to LifeAftr:

Canon Universe: your standard application. For a character with a solid canon background who is not being brought in from another game, this is the application for you.

Lesser Background: for characters who may not have much canon background to go off of, such as a silent protagonist or NPC. For further clarification on what constitutes for the lesser background app, check our FAQ.

Original Character: for all your OC needs!

CRAU: if importing from another game, please use the CRAU app. This applies whether the character is canon, lesser, or OC. This is also the template to use if you are re-applying your character with their previous LifeAftr memories.

We ask that you put your character name, canon, application type, and whether or not you have reserved your character in the subject header. For readability purposes, we also ask that you link to your application on your journal instead of pasting it into the comment itself.

Only submit your application once you are sure it is complete; as apps are processed throughout the duration of the round, we have no way of tracking if any edits are made after the fact. Likewise, we will only be issuing TDM rewards to those who have proofs at the initial time of submission. In regards to nerfs;

[ ♆ ] Beast form. In addition to the suggested exhaustion caveat, Keaton will be restricted to one transformation per day.

[ ♆ ] Grisly Wounds is nerfed entirely.

[ ♆ ] Keaton's Beast Stone will continue to have the same limits imposed as in canon; it will need to be "restocked" upon occasion. Keaton may request auto-refills to it's power via an item request.

As per your answer to our additional question, Keaton's initial dream with the Storyteller will also include a rather vague explanation regarding recent events leading to multiple deaths. The Storyteller has done their best to revive the fallen- however, returning to life comes with some, small, side effects...

So nice of you to volunteer in taking up some of that burden. For Keaton's first week in game, he will be taking on part of Newt Geiszler's death penalty- one important aspect of his world will be missing from his memories entirely. We leave this missing memory up to your discretion; it will be returned to him on November 10th!

Keaton will arrive with a knapsack; on which he will find his name embossed with thread. Within, the following items have been supplied:

Due to your participation in the Test Drive Meme, Keaton has also been awarded a Berry Charm! It's not highly usual jewelry-making practice to give a necklace three separate clasps, but two this one has - all for the benefit of a rather simple carved wooden berry charm at the end. Fastening each clasp will relieve you of hunger and thirst for twenty-four hours, rendering you quite immune to any adverse effects that might be had from not eating or drinking in that amount of time. Now that's handy to have in a food shortage!

The clasps will drop from the necklace and refuse to be reunited with their fellows once the twelve hours have elapsed. Nothing will mend the necklace's function once the seventy-two total hours have elapsed...though maybe someone could make the wooden charm quite wearable, if you find the right person.

In regards to nerfs;

[ ♆ ] As a wild card, Akechi will have access to Robin Hood and Loki as his personae.

[ ♆ ] The proposed nerf to reduce all abilities to "minor" damage is acceptable. Further, however, Akechi will be limited to five skill slots across both of his personae, which we request you list in your response to this notice. If he desires to swap out these skills at a later date, Akechi will be able to do so with the Storyteller via using IC favors.

[ ♆ ] An exhaustion caveat will be applied to magic; the more he uses his personae, the more tired he will become, and must eventually recharge his energy at a mana pool or else risk collapsing.

[ ♆ ] Desperation, if chosen as one of his five skills, can be used once per day and lasts for a total of five minutes.

[ ♆ ] Finally, we would like to know the amount of handgun ammo Akechi is arriving to LifeAftr with.

In regards to nerfs;

[ ♆ ] Soul Perception will require a permissions post.

[ ♆ ] Anti-magic wavelength will also require a permissions post, with a 50% chance of failure in expelling any possessions. The damage caused will be reduced to severe injury, rather than the ability to outright destroy people, and will come with an exhaustion caveat.

[ ♆ ] Weapon Form will have an exhaustion caveat, in addition to a half hour time frame per day. As she is still new to the ability, she will also be restricted to sprouting one scythe from each arm, with the potential to have these restrictions lessened as her skills develop in game.

In addition, please note the following in regards to her inventory;

Pumpkin will count as one of her two companions within game. Whilst Pumpkin may retain their water breathing capabilities, they will be unable to go further than fifty feet into the ocean. Only one of her additional sets of clothing will make the transition with her, and her mobile phone will be flat.

As per your answer to our additional question, Maka's initial dream with the Storyteller will also include a rather vague explanation regarding recent events leading to multiple deaths. The Storyteller has done their best to revive the fallen- however, returning to life comes with some, small, side effects...

For Maka's first week in game, she will be taking on part of Gobbet's death penalty- for Maka, this will translate to restrictions on Soul Perception, Anti-magic wavelength, and her weapon form. Should she attempt to access these, she will experience significant pain. The effects will disappear entirely on November 10th!

Maka will arrive with a knapsack; on which she will find her name embossed with thread. Within, the following items have been supplied:

One jug of condensed milk
One multi-tool
One flint and tinder
One first-aid kit

Due to your participation in the Test Drive Meme, Maka has also been awarded a Toy Horse! A small wood statue of a horse might not appeal to everyone's artistic tastes, so it's a good thing that this happens to be a great deal more than a pretty trinket. The instructions beneath are simple, and quite direct: "It'd be wheel-y bad if you disappeared."

And sure enough, snapping off one of the horse's four wheels will yield exactly that. For one hour per wheel, you will fade from most everyone's general perceptions - from animals to fellow islanders alike, you will be all but invisible. You'll be quite solid, and quite visual, but from everyone else's perspective, you'll just be...highly forgettable, their eyes sliding past you as though you weren't there.

That's quite an impressive power to have on hand. Make sure to use it wisely.

As I mentioned before, he's basically an original character in a non-original setting, so his background prior to the collapse and apocalypse happening is literally all my own creation. That being said, everything after the plane crash is gameplay I actually had with the poor fool, creating his story in real time. Fun fact: He died in game the day after y'all approved him as an appable character.
