Additionally, please note that applications received on Saturdays may take up to 24 hours to receive a response, particularly if an app is received last minute. Applications received after 12pm est on Saturdays will not be processed until the following weekend.
Prior to starting your application, please check the Taken Page to ensure they are not already in play. Please ensure that you have Reserved the character you wish to apply for; keep in mind that we do not accept application challenges!
There are a total of four application templates which can be used to apply to LifeAftr:
Canon Universe: your standard application. For a character with a solid canon background who is not being brought in from another game, this is the application for you.
Lesser Background: for characters who may not have much canon background to go off of, such as a silent protagonist or NPC. For further clarification on what constitutes for the lesser background app, check our FAQ.
Original Character: for all your OC needs!
CRAU: if importing from another game, please use the CRAU app. This applies whether the character is canon, lesser, or OC. This is also the template to use if you are re-applying your character with their previous LifeAftr memories.
Note: If importing an OC or Lesser Background character, refer to the respective application form to see the judging standards for each field.

We ask that you put your character name, canon, application type, and whether or not you have reserved your character in the subject header. For readability purposes, we also ask that you link to your application on your journal instead of pasting it into the comment itself.
Only submit your application once you are sure it is complete; as apps are processed throughout the duration of the round, we have no way of tracking if any edits are made after the fact. What do you think your friends like about you? I suppose it would be... That I'm kind? And reliable. The other shrine maidens often told me how nice I was and would come to me often for advice. I thought of myself and somewhat of a big sister to them.
Can you forgive a major transgression if the one who did it is sorry? When you die, you realize there are a lot of things that seemed like mountains at the time, but are so small in the grand scheme of things. I have seen many secrets and the horrible pasts of many people, many things they would not have wanted anyone to know. Their remorse over such things was always true and I found myself moved.
If someone is truly sorry and showed me through their actions, not just words, that they were truly apologetic, I would forgive them.
What are some regrets you have? .........
I wish I had had the courage to say out loud my feelings for him.
Describe a fond memory you have. The first day I was dressed in my wedding kimono to meet with a promising young man to have my photo taken by him. The 'camera' of his was new and exotic, and he was polite and well-spoken. When he showed me the picture he'd taken, our fingers touched and our eyes met for the first time beyond the lens of a camera.
I will never forget that bittersweet moment.
Have you ever disappointed someone you cared about? If so, how did that make you feel? I can't say for sure if I disappointed them all by being unable to fulfill my duties. If I had been stronger, if my heart had not faltered... Could I have changed things? There was nothing I could do for my sisters being slaughtered, but perhaps I could have done something different in the aftermath. I do not know. It feels terrible to disappoint the people you care most about.
How valuable do you consider your own life to be? My life has value as a shrine maiden helping others, and then as a pillar. My life belongs to the water and my duties, and will be as valuable as those things. I...suppose that answers the question?

In regards to nerfs;
♆ Mitori: Ouse will require a permissions post to bear witness to other's deaths, in addition to taking on their pain from wounds. In addition, her ability to read other's minds (thoughts, emotions, etc) will be nerfed entirely.
♆ Black water/yomi: the waters of LifeAftr, unfortunately, will not offer any amplification. Water may only be corrupted when it is in direct contact with her body; in these instances, she may infect another character by touching them with this water only. Whilst this will attract the creatures of LifeAftr, it will not have any affect on spirits in regards to making them "vengeful".
♆ Telepathy/detection: Telepathy will be restricted to Yuri only; when/if she is apped,
we will discuss any additional restrictions with you further. In regards to her ability to detect others, this will only apply to other player characters currently located on the same square of the map as herself; it will have no effect in regards to NPCs, creatures, etc, that are native to LifeAftr.
